1.A Brief History of the College

In August 1992, the Academy of Arts was approved to be established independently from the Faculty of Arts. In November of the same year, the Art Building, which was rebuilt from the Engineering and Education Building, was officially opened. Lu Mingde, a professor of the Department of Fine Arts, served as the first dean, and the second dean was Chen Ruiwen. Professor, the third dean is Professor Huang Jiujuan, and the current dean is Professor Huang Fangyin. The department includes the Department of Fine Arts, the Department of Music, the Department of Visual Design, the Interdisciplinary Art Research Institute, the Art Industry Aboriginal Bachelor’s Program, and the Performing Arts Master’s Degree Program. The School of Art has begun to integrate various resources inside and outside the school, and promote various research, teaching, promotion and other related activities, forming an important center for the development of culture and art education in the south.

3.Development direction and focus

The development of contemporary art is one of the important basic tasks for the promotion of national cultural policies. The improvement of artistic level will bring rich creative resources to the society and promote the high-quality spiritual life of Chinese people. In line with the school’s implementation goals such as strengthening the integration of college mechanisms, transforming into a comprehensive university, extending teacher training functions, and promoting off-campus service cooperation, the development direction and focus of the School of Art are as follows:
  1. Build the organizational structure of the Academy of Art, cultivate talents in contemporary art research and creation, and educate and plan talents.
  2. Comply with the trend of multi-cultural integration of the times, follow the principles of avant-garde art innovation, and pursue new connotations of multi-field art.
  3. In response to the national plan to develop cultural and creative industries, construct an interdisciplinary art research mechanism, and establish a nine-year consistent model for the implementation of the arts and humanities.
  4. Cooperate with school development policies, implement extension services, combine effective resources, strengthen the integration of education and education, and promote inter-school and international research, exhibition and performance cooperation.

4.Departmental Organizational Planning

The principles and characteristics of the department’s organizational planning The college has been approved to be established since the 1992 academic year, and has an independent and perfect art college building. In line with the development direction and focus of the preceding paragraph, the organizational structure of the college is mainly based on the classification of basic departments and integrated departments, with theoretical research, creative application as the planning principle, and integrated research and performance of cross-disciplinary art as the main development feature. . And depending on the actual development conditions, the development planning progress will be made in three phases: short-term planning, mid-term planning, and long-term planning.
